Biography
Brittanee Laverdure is Director of the Truth and Reconciliation Office at RBC Origins. In her role, she helps the bank to deliver its Reconciliation Action Plan to measure its reconciliation efforts and drive change. She is responsible for improving the business processes impacting the three pillars of RBC’s Indigenous banking strategy and identifying impact opportunities on Call to Action 92 from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Brittanee began her career with RBC Wealth Management in 2017 working with indigenous communities and their trust structures.
Before joining RBC, Brittanee worked at a practicing lawyer for 5 years. Prior to that she was an international athlete representing Canada at international competitions. Brittanee is a Member of the Law Society of Alberta. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in International Indigenous Studies, and followed that up with her Juris Doctor (Law Degree). Brittanee went on to complete her Master of Business Administration from Queens University including a Social Impact Certificate. Brittanee has completed her Institute of Corporate Directors designation and serves as a board member for the Board of Directors for the Dena Kayeh Institute. Brittanee was a RBC 2023 Global Citizen for her volunteer efforts.
Brittanee is from the Wolf Clan of the Kaska Nation in located in Northern British Columbia and Yukon where she is a Member of the Liard First Nation. Brittanee enjoys connecting with her community and contributing to activities that preserve the land and culture of her ancestors which is why she focuses on the work with DKI.
